Wow! I haven't blogged on here in over a year and two months! Wow, what a shame! There has been so much that has happened in the past year with the Twins, so I will do a quick recap with thoughts:

Twins win AL Central- We all knew it would happen. We were awesome. Too bad we couldn't win in the post season...cough
Joe Nathan surgery- This was a bummer. And now he will never be the same [See 2011 Twins season for more]
Requiring Nishioka- This was really cool! Too bad he only played a couple days before going on the DL this year...
Twins having the worst start of the season ever- This was so depressing. I didn't even want to know what the score was!
Everyone going on the DL. Ugh, makes me angry that we have a huge team of call-ups (However, they are pulling their acts together lately!)
Harmon Killebew- This ripped the Twins apart. Really cool that there is a picture of him under home plate and a big '3' on the water tower!

Now to today. The Twins have won 14 of their last 16 games and have won seven straight. Who would have thought that this team would make such a turn around after how they played the first two months! We are actually back in the hunt in the A.L. Central. Yay!

Congrats to all the triple A guys who kicked butt in todays game. For real, if the Twins are winning games with our call-ups, then imagine what we can do with our veterans off the D.L.!

Oh and P.S. Casilla? You made everyone pee their pants today. Thanks for that bud.

Baseball and Birthdays

Today is my 16th birthday and what a great present MLB brings me every year around this time: Opening Day and the Regular Season.

We have all waited months for baseball to start back up again and I am super excited. We've got new players, a renewed attitude to win the division without an extra game, and, SI rated the Twins to be #1 in the Central Divison (Yeaaaahhhh!)

I was looking at all the new players in each of the teams and I didn't even realize how many NY Yankees were traded/not signed this offseason. Heideki Matsui, Johnny Damon, Melky Cabrera, etc. I couldn't believe it! And, we won't have to deal with pestery Polonco anymore in Detroit :).

~Spring Training stuff and Pre-Season thoughts~

1. I am pissed that Tolbert won't be up in the Majors to start the year.

2. Slowey is going to ROCK

3. Peterson, Revere, and Portes are going to be awesome in the future.

4. Nathan...well, that sucks. Stupid Elbows...

5. Twins beating the Yanks in Spring Training CAN and WILL carry over to the regular season

6. Yay Orlando Hudson and J.J. Hardy!...and Thome I guess :)
7. Punto/Harris at 3rd: So hard! If Punto could just get some spark in his bat he would have that spot so fast! Kudos to Harris however, he has been swinging the bat really well this Spring

8. Mijares still scares me a little.

9. Rauch...he's tall!
10. Outside Spring ball to Outside Summer ball for the first time in a LONG time! Hoorah!

Lets start of the season well...expecially in the new stadium. I sure hope the Gophers didn't curse it!

Hello Spring Training!

It is FINALLY here! The first step towards baseball season (& the new stadium!!).

Seeing the pitchers and catchers warm up in a video on the news today makes me so excited but also really sad. I absolutly LOVED going to spring training last year and I want to be down there so bad it kills me! Seeing all the fans at the fence reminds me: "Hey! That was ME a year ago!". I am begging to go again next year. It was the best time of my life.

And again, it never fails that we seem to always have somebody with a Visa problem (coughMijarescough). I am glad that people like Mauer and Slowey don't have to worry about things like that :0).

I am back from my blogging hibernation. Baseball is approaching, so I better "dust off the shelves" and get some typing in!

I sure hope that February flies by. I cannot wait until Baseball season, and I am sure the whole blogging community could agree on that!

This weekend=Twins Fest. Me=Home. I DID get invited to go with a friend, but unfortunatly this weekend is jam packed with busy-ness. Sigh. Last years was great. I got to meet K-Slow for the first time and got my picture taken with him. It was honestly the best day of the year right there and I would kill to go again! (Next year...definite possibility!)

Thoughts on Twins Trades, Twins things, Twins players...etc. :
1. We have Jim Thome. Well, this IS good, if he can stay healthy and do as much damage to the other team like he as always done to us (Kinda reminds me of Joe Crede..).
2. No Mauer contract talk. This really bums me out, but I know that they will have it all under control. He is Joe Mauer after all!
3. Goodbye, Redmond. Ok, half of me is ok with this, and half of me is not. He WAS like a veteran leader on our team and always hustled and had a good personality. But then again, he is aging & he hardly plays with a star like Mauer here, so he probably made the best decision.

Will blog again around Spring Training. It's only a month away! :0)

And today marks the worst day of Alexi Casilla's life. Gomez has been traded away to our border rivals, the Milwaukee Brewers. On one hand, I am sad. On the other hand, he didn't really get to play much during the season.

Some of my memories of Gomez in a Twins uniform...
-Hitting for the cycle (1st time since Puckett I might add)
-Stealing all those bases on the first day he was in Twins uniform (Opening Day 2008)
-All the nicknames...Go Go, Gosilla, etc.
-His craziness in the duggout
-Well duh, his speed and quickness
-Scored the winning run to take us to the Postseason this year
-His accent! :)

We'll miss ya Gomez!!

We're leaving today. All thanks to a bunch of chee-eeters...NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!.

A season has to come to an end. I just wish ours could have lasted a few more weeks! I really really wanted to not have the last game in the dome be a loss. Turns out thats how the dome will end, on a stinkin loss to some stupid errogant team. (Do you like all the different words I have been calling "them"? There would be plenty more, but I am trying to keep this blog clean. ;) )

The Twins need to break the curse of running into a brick wall once they get to the playoffs. Remember Oakland? That was ugly. This time, it wasn't too bad. We lost on crap calls and pitchers not being agressive enough...and maybe some offense too. We should be playing tomorrow in our cozy dome because in my book, WE won on Saturday.

I'd just like to say that the Twins gave us an awesome 2009 season. Lets do even BETTER next year!

..And whoever was playing left field (Melky Cabrera?) during the DOUBLE that Mauer hit. He is a cheater. The whole Yankee organization are cheaters. I hope whoever that was has enormous guilt....and the umpire too, who should seriously be fined/kicked out/fired/etc. What does he umpire normally? Kinderball?? Gah, this issue bugs me so much!

We have been playing awesome lately! I think we have won 8 out of our last 10. That is great. We are so in this race! Keep pushing guys, we can do it!

So sorry I have been absent a couple weeks. I HAVE been keeping up with the Twins though! I went to last Saturdays game (9/19) to see them kick the Tigers' butt. Afterwards I got to play softball on the field that the Twins were on hours before. GREAT expirience. AND while we were warming up, Justin Morneau was standing right by us giving a Q&A for this kids program. Afterward, he waved at our team. It was GREAT!

I do have pictures from the game, but I haven't had time to upload them. I will soon, promise!

Good Luck to Blackburn tomorrow and all of the Twins in this final road series! Kick Butt! :)

Well. That's depressing. 7 games back, with a month left. No, it's not impossible, but it is going to be one heck of a battle. They've got to be like Cleveland from Major League. What does that mean? IT MEANS GET YOUR BUTT IN GEAR RIGHT NOW!

I've gotten some conclusions about where we could be standing now if
1) We hadn't lost ALL games to New York
2) We hadn't lost Kevin Slowey
3) Liriano wasn't such a butt
4) We kept our players healthy
5) We had gotten Crede's back fixed for good
6) We had never called up Keppel
7) We would have had Buscher play more often

And there are plenty more that could be added there.

Just to get it out there so it's not a huge surprise to anyone: On Thursday we have to face Halladay. Brace yourselves folks.

There is one thing that gets my spirits up and hopefully it will lift yours too. You know, we still have 6 more games with Detroit. You know, we could win a bunch of those and be right back in it. Don't give up guys!

Metrodome Magic!

Great win last night guys! That win sets the tone for the series. We must continue with this confidence and push all the way through September. Don't worry, the September Callups will help get the job done!

Speaking of the callups, I am so happy that Tolbert and Buscher are back. Everyone needs what I call a "Buscher" at bat. An at bat that makes the pitcher throw over five pitches to a batter. Buscher does that nearly every time he is up to bat. Go Buscher! Wear that guy out! Tolbert? Well, he can play anywhere. He is like a Brandon Inge...only he doesn't catch. :)

What ever happend to Pridie? I met him down in Florida and he was such a happy-go-lucky guy. We called him over for autographs but he went the other way. We thought he ignored us, but a minute later he comes back and says "Did somebody call my name?". Ah, what a guy! :)

In other news...Ozzie would like to be apart of the "farewell metrodome" thing. What a scam. He is so sneaky it makes me sick. A quote from the news story on twinsbaseball.com: "Actually, Guillen would like to be the individual who blows up the Metrodome" haha. I bet he would. Thank you vikings for not getting a new stadium!

And...Crede is NOT retiring. Don't even think that! ....I just wish he could play vs. the White Sox because he kicks butt against them :(

Hoorah! We are finally in front of the stupid white sox! (Thank you NYY). The next thing on our leapfrog list: The Detroit Tigers.

Great job on winning the series today guys. It would have been even better if Tampa Bay had wanted to be our friend today and beat the Tigers. They must be still mourning the loss of Scott Kazmir.

Whoa. Did we do a suicide squeeze today? Yeah, I think we did and it worked out great! That is punto's specialty right there. It's so fun to watch Minnesota ball where you see more of those plays than homeruns (but it is still fun to watch HRs too).

Jeez Nathan. Could you maybe not make all the Twins fans have a heart attack everytime the game is close in the ninth inning? It is not a happy feeling when there are 3 people on base with no out in a close situation.

Lets keep the Minnesota beating Chicago magic going this next series. We don't want them to leap over us!

Way to sweep those Royals, Twins! I don't know why you couldn't do it last time, but the most importand news is we are gaining ground. I was really worried when we were 6.5 back. Now we are in post striking distance. Hoorah!

Tonight we have the Orioles. You would think "Psh, we got this in the bag" but we always seem to have some troubles with them. At least we have Justin back tonight!

Hopefully we can continue to beat the Royals because our final series is with them. Guess who has to play eachother in the final series? White Sox and Tigers. (snicker snicker)

Ugh, I can't wait until September 1st and Brian Buscher...

Wow, I didn't realize that it had been 3 weeks since we had back to back wins. That is all over now!

The past 2 games are the games that are the best to watch. Coming back from 5-0 and 4-1 is great! Do you know how bad it would have been if we had been 7.5 back? Ugh. We need to continue to battle here. Detroit isn't just going to hand us the division!

I am so happy for the following people:
*Delmon Young: You have really stepped it up recently, and I love when you make me happy!
*Denard Span: Such a risky play to run in from second, but hey! You made it (and made pudge look like a rookie!)
*Joe Mauer: Yeah, they so ripped you off of your streak yesterday, but you're average is so high, you'll start a new (longer) streak tonight!
*Jose Mijares: You didn't give up any runs when we were only up by one. Good Job! (You are better than Keppel...aka Krappel according to Betsy )

Get better soon Morneau. We can't have Cuddy playing 1B forever. And Harris at first base? HA! This is the situation where Buscher would be in....sigh :(

No, not like the coughing, puking, sneezing kind of sick. I think I might be sick because I just don't have the passion for the Twins right now. Oh of course I still love them, but they are being so in consistant that its hard to get excited, you know?

Ugh, our pitching. That is part of the reason why I am "sick". We all know that Pavano did good in his last start and we can't expect him to come here and win every single game. He didn't do that bad. He didn't give up 6 runs in the first inning like some people I know...

Oh my gosh. I am so happy/proud/excited for Liriano. He was like my medicine that one day. Yesterday, my medicine was Mauer, duh. He drove in every run.

Cheers for Cabrera for his TWENTY TWO game hitting streak. Thats amazing!

Twins, please make me feel better and win against Cleveland. Please?

That is basically the button that the Twins are pressing right now and it is really annoying.

Just some things on my mind....
1. We are 3 games under .500?? When did this happen?
2. We are 5.5 games back? Weren't we like 1.5 games back like less than 2 weeks ago?
3. Baker, Baker, Baker. I thought you were the one we could depend on...
4. Woah! Pavano is just what we needed! I like him.
5. Cabrera has a 19 game hitting streak! Yay!
6. The Tigers have to play the Red Sox tonight which is good, because Boston is good, but Boston has only scored 2 runs in the past 5 days and yeah...
7. Very impressed with Mauer and Spans' performace during the Detroit series.
8. Oh my gosh if we lose to KC I am probably going to loose it.

That is all. The Twins better gain their senses during this off day and shape up. Only a month and a half left of play guys!!

Uh, what is your record now? 4-11? ELEVEN? What is wrong with you? Every start you have I think "ok, he HAS to do better than last time" or "Ok, I will give him one more chance". Well, you blew all those chances. Every. Single. One. I am so sick of you. Basically we can't win more than 4 in a row because you are here. What should we do with you? Send you down? Trade? I don't really know. But the Twins better do something or else this team WILL NOT make it to the playoffs. It's tough to say this, but as of right now? You SUCK.

It'll be fun to have another new person in the club. But I feel so bad for Brenden Harris. He got slapped. And Brian Buscher. What did he do wrong? Sure his average was low, but you never let him play! I'll miss you, Brian. :(

Oh, its been so long since those brooms have been out of the closet!

It feels so good to get a sweep, expecially of our rival. :)

Lots of trading going on and there are two teams that basically got slapped: Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

*Cleveland: Lost their ace Cliff Lee (which is good in our case) to the Phillies. What is up with the phillies? They have everybody! I wouldn't be surprised if they got Halladay too.

*Pittsburgh: Trades away their players like candy. LaRoche, and now two others including a 3 time All Star in Sanchez. How could they split up the LaRoches!!

Anyway, back to the Twins...
You could so tell that Ozzie Guillen was pissed off during his news conference after the game. He tried to handle it in a calm matter. Hey, thats what you get when you kick the complimentary bubble gum bucket!

Congrats to....
-Nathan, for getting 3 saves in 3 days.

-Casilla, for breaking Buehrle's 45 consecutive retired batters and driving in 2 of 3 last night
-Mark Buehrle, for breaking an MLB record. He was on Letterman. hahaha.
-Bullpen, for not blowing our 1 run leads
-Cuddy, for the go ahead homerun
-Duensing, for pitching really well in his "debut". I just realized I got an autograph from him at Twinsfest in the Free department. What a deal! :)

Can you imagine having Pat Neshek back? It feels like he isn't on our team, but then when you think about him, you are like: "oh yeah! He's good!" Oh, next year will be grand to have our sidearm slinger back! It feels like he's been gone forever!

Heard the news via Anthony LaPanta today. What a shame. We needed him! (No offense to Mr. Swarzak. He is good, but is it good enough to get to the playoffs?)

Speaking of starting pitching, Swarzak showed all of our "veterans" how to do it in Anehiem. Why can't Baker and Liriano seem to Jumpstart their season? We need them more then ever as we are facing our divison rivals so much in these next few months!!

Kubel the Angel slayer

It is really a shame that we couldn't do anything to get this race interesting when Chicago and Detroit were playing eachother. From 2 GB, to 5 GB. Ouch. Well, at least the white sox are only 2 games ahead! (yay?)

Ugh, I just HATE those extra inning games and when we are ahead but then lose in the end. The Oakland game was UG-LY and I won't even speak of it again. It feels like we've had a bajillion extra inning games lately. I hope we end that soon, it makes me so nervous and really spazzy.

Anyway, I hope we can beat up on the sox and then come back to do better against the Angels at home. Jason Kubel better play every game vs. the Angels because he is amazing!

Sox invading Twins Territory

So I was in Minneapolis on Sunday visiting a family member in Abbott Hospital (very close to Metrodome, but sadly the Twins were in Texas). We were in the room when a doctor walked in to talk to my family member about rehab etc. While he was talking, I noticed a pin on the collar of his lab coat. What was it? It was this.

A Chicago White Sox Pin.
....And what was I wearing?

My Carlos Gomez Shirt (since, you know, he's "En Fuego" as Coomer thinks).

I joked with him and asked if I could get him a Twins hat since he's a MN doctor, but he said he was a die hard sox fan. (...Why??) He then said that he could get me a Sox pin (does he keep multiple in his office?), but I faithfully declined. No Twins fan would EVER wear Sox Merchandise! :)

So on to the game last night. Mighty Nick Punto. Homerun. Good For You buddy! Why couldn't it have been a 2 or 3 run HR? It would have been great if we would have won. Everyone in our Divison lost (Detroit to Yanks. HA!) so we would have been only 1 game back. Lets hope for a win tonight since Detroit isn't playing. Dang 9:10 games....

IAN MICHAEL KINSLER! How dare you use your good looks to blind us and hit a walk off HR? I thought you were the good Ranger... :(

All Stars once again

First off, sorry for the delay in blogging. Was on vacation this week so there was no internet access. =)

Secondly, the All Star Game (in my opinion) was quite boring this year. Last year was so intense as it went on and on into the late innings. This game was so short and un-eventful. Congrats to Carl Crawford on winning the MVP (although I was hoping a Twin would win it for once). I am also very proud of how our boys did in the game.

*Joe Mauer- RBI double (Whoop Whoop!) and great catching behind the plate as well.
*Joe Nathan-Scorless 8th. Tried to make it interesting by putting 2 men on and Howard at the plate. Got him to strike out on a not-so-great pitch, but hey, at least he didn't allow runs!
*Justin Morneau-2 solidly hit balls (for outs, sadly) and played an awesome 1B (as always!)

It was a surprise that there were no homeruns in the game. I thought for sure that the NL would get one with Howard, Fielder, and Pujols over there.

Speaking of homeruns, Price Fielder did awesome at the Derby on Monday. He hit that ball so far! Since Mauer was out right away (nice try Joe) I was rooting for Prince all the way. :)

We got another win last night (when Detroit lost) so that is a great way to start the second half. (Second half? The first half just flew by! I don't want the season to end) :(

Something I noticed last night is that Nathan always "Brays" when he is nervous. He looks just like a Donkey when he does that. He does it every game too. Silly Nathan!

GRRR! I am so full of anger right now!

My hates of the series: Derek Jeter. Derek Jeters tight pants. Mark Texiera. Mark Texieras stupid smug face. Punto striking out with bases loaded. Baker giving up 5 runs in 3 innings. Us giving up 3 runs in the 2nd inning. Us falling behind so far that we can't catch up. Jeter's leadoff singles. Us giving up on everything. Span picked off 2nd. Getting swept. Getting swept at home. (Plus others that I can't think of at the time)

Even though thats alot of hates, it makes me feel a whole lot better. I needed to tell somebody about my Twins fusterations, so there you go world.

Claps for: Mauer for the HR, Kubel with the HR, Gomez with that AWESOME catch, Morales for being a big boy, Swarzak (he didn't do that bad, we just sucked)

I found another look-alike. This time it is A.J. Burnett and Jenna Boyd (She played in movies such as Sisterhood of the traveling pants and Dickie Roberts Child Star)

Poor Picture Quality for Burnett. Best I could find!

Another thing I recently thought of. Remeber Ramon Ortiz? haha! I found him while looking through my 2007 team scrapbook. He wasn't very good, and good thing we traded him!
Remember now? ha.

We didn't get swept! I am so proud at all the games the boys played, even if they didn't win that tough one on Friday. Just to say, wishing at 11:11 doesn't work. I tried it on the day the played 16 innings. And, it didn't come true [them winning]. Dickey! What the heck man! I thought you were the good one... :(

Morneau has been on fire lately and I am so happy that he gets to go to the All-Star game along with the usual Mauer and Nathan. They will do great, like always. They represent Minnesota well!

Ah, Kevin Slowey. Something is seriously wrong with you. I am happy you are going to the DL because you need rest or something. Don't worry, I'll be happy when you return because you will be better than ever! (Stupid Halladay, now he's going to beat Kevin in wins...)

Haha, Today's Rick Porcello (of Detroit) reminded me SO much of Mr. Craig Breslow. Remember him? It's hard not to. He could never throw a strike...

Their eyes are very shifty... :P

I'll take that! I was really worried coming into this series. The Cardinals are a tough team, but WE won the series! Now if only Detroit could have some bad luck...

FABULOUS job by G-Perk. He went the distance in pitching AND laid down two great sacrifice bunts. Close game, but we held on.

Poor Kevin Slowey. He got beat up early and was taken out in the third. He only got to bat once (sadly) and didn't get win number 11. GREAT performance by Bobby Keppel however. New guy pitching against his idols. What a dream come true that must have been for him! Dang Pujols has to ruin all of our fun...

Game Three...
Hands down Liriano's best performance of the season (sadly, it came 3 months into the season). Congrats to Morneau who hit a homerun. He hadn't hit one in SO long. The fans needed that excitement again :)

Busch Stadium looks amazing...and that was just on TV. It makes you really excited for next year doesn't it? I like to call Busch Stadium "Busch-er Stadium" because everytime I see BUSCH behind the batters it makes me think of Brian. And he got to play in game three at his stadium. Hoorah!

Again. We try so hard to go over .500 let alone reach .500, and then just fall. Today's bat's were ICE. We got nothing.

Can we just forget that game? It's kind of hard too. 4 games back, 1 game ahead of Chicago, and once again 1 below .500. I guess there is some positives....

1) We are going to Milwaukee, and they just got swept and so it's the perfect time to beat them again.
2) Kevin Slowey gets to bat on Thursday in Milwaukee... (LIE! he is batting when in St.Louis on the 27th because of "sore ribs". Sad day folks, sad day)
3) I hate Detroit >:(

Congrats Cuddy, on your homerun for the only Twins run today and to Brian Buscher who got the other hit.

Not much else to say about today's blah game. So sorry to all the dads that came out to the dome to see a pittiful performance, and to Joe Mauer, whose 12 game hitting streak ended today.

Twins baseball for ya last night. No Homeruns or big stuff like that, just the old fasioned bunts, singles, and sacrifices. Just how we like it!

First off, Nick Punto's bunt for the squeeze was PERFECT. Young (we'll talk about him more later) ran it perfectly as well.

Slowey, that superman, got his 10th win. Tied with Halladay, which is pretty spectacular. Can you say SLOWEY THE ALL-STAR? :)

Any last but not least, Delmon Young. He has made me happy these past few weeks, and yeserday, he won the game with his hitting...and fielding. The homerun saver was amazing (even though Gomez did look awesome scaling that wall...). Keep it up Delmon (and hit a homerun...that will make me EXTRA happy!) ;)

2) It is fun to watch teams we never play
3) We get to hit when away from home (i.e. Kevin Slowey=Best pitcher/hitter)

Have we gone over the .500 mark yet? Seems like we crawl to .500, then slip away, then crawl back etc. etc. etc. Today, our goal is to go over .500, and I think we have a pretty good chance at it.

Last night Glen Perkins didn't wear his ug-ly cut-off jersey during his "debut take two". If you don't know, For the Love and I HATE when he wears his ugly jersey (and makes everyone else wear them). At least Kevin Slowey doesn't wear those things. Can you just imagine him in those things. Yucky.

Great Performance last night Scotty (well, we won't count the 9th inning). You were nearly unhittable. You were really cookin'!

Great to see some more HR power last night too. Morneau, so happy you are actually thinking and not just trying to be macho. And Kubel, well, you just do your thing! (P.S. Bremer SO called the 3 run homerun last night).

Oh, have you seen this guy who is about 6 foot 1, 210 pounds, and last name starts with 'H' and ends in 'Arris'? Because he, is on Fire right now. The look of dissapointment on his face when his double didn't clear the fence. He tries so hard every game, and that's why he is my BF of the day. (one flaw, he does like to watch strike 3 and make a big deal over how it "wasn't even close")

And....Delmon Young. You proved me wrong last night, and I am glad you did! This was the first time this year I was actually happy you were in the line-up. Now that is something you don't hear from me everyday!!

sigh. I am really not in a good mood since we cannot possibly win against the suckiest teams in baseball. I thought maybe, just maybe, we could end this crappy road record and start winning some more. I was wrong (unless miraculously we win every single game here in Oakland and in Chicago...).

So last night watched a little bit of the game (up until they got 3 runs..by Tolbert! hehe ) and then went to bed since these 9:10 games are rediculous, and thought this should give them the win tonight. Wrong again. Our pitchers blow our lead. This same thing happend with Slowey (what?!? exactly.). We built a lead, just for him to give up two HR's that eventually beat us.

And Morneau. You're trying too hard and it's making you look like a big pile of SUCK. When you swing, you don't even look at the ball! and you are missing by a mile! Not only you, but the top of the order is not pulling it's weight. Come ON guys. Wake Up here!

I will blog happy soon because the Twins WILL WIN TONIGHT (provided Delmon doesn't start)

Congrats Justin Morneau, who, being agressive as always, launched one to the second deck with the bases loaded (farther than Mauer's, which he loves to do) right after a spat of Gardenhire and the HP ump.

and whoa, Gardee couldn't have gotten his face closer to the umpires'. But, I guess that's what you have to do to get the call reversed!

~Crede, who got hit hard in the hand that made him hurt so bad he took himself out of the game.

Congrats Michael Cuddyer! Yet another Twin to hit for the cycle, and coming just over a month of Kubel's cycle too! So proud Cud, so proud!

I just happend to come inside to hear that Cuddy was only a triple shy of the cycle. I thought "oh, how extremely hard it would be to hit a triple to get the cycle" and BAM he does it (on the LEFT side too!). It kinda looked like he was crying at 3rd too. Love you Cuddy!

Anyway, SO glad that we ended that nasty streak of losing games and are back on track. 20 runs against the Sox? We should do that more often! Hoorah to Mauer on the GS, and Tolbert, just cus he's tolbert ♥

And Boy, do I LOVE interleague play. Cause we ROCK! Kevin Slowey is like the ace of Interleague, if only we were in Milwaukee so he could hit some more!

We need to end this losing streak or I may lose my hair. Just when you think "oh, they are doing really well! Maybe they'll win!" The starter and/or bullpen lets them pull right back in the lead. I think I may go crazy if we get swept twice.

Trying to keep my mind off my Baseball fusterations, I tuned in to watch the American Idol finale (this was at the point of when the twins were trailing 7-2). I am not a Idol-Fanatic, but I did want Kris Allen to win, and hey! at least something went my way today.

He's my boyfriend of the day since me and the Twins are having a disagreement right now.

Anyway, with the twins' loss tonight, I will be more crabby tomorrow. And people will give me crap at school about how much they suck and blah blah blah. UGH! WE NEED TO END THIS MADNESS TO-MORR-OW. 'nuff said.

Question of the day: Can we beat the NY Yankees? Well, The Twins abviously don't think so.

Every game. EVERY-GAME. We led and our bullpen blew it all away. On Friday, our bullpen Could-NOT-throw-a strike!

Ugh, I hate Mark Teixera. I hate him so much. I hate him more than Derek Jeter, and I hate Derek Jeter. M.T is so full of himself, and I can't stand it!

Also, Bert commented we were about 3-27 in this series with runners in scoring position. That stinks! We better win tomorrow, and if not, it's going to be a long roadtrip when we go to Chicago. Oh my gosh this could be bad.

Homerun Happy

Ok, we can't hit homeruns ever, but when we do, their all in a cluster. Just like yesterday's and todays games.

I honestly think Morneau gets jealous of Mauer. 2 days in a row Mauer has homered, and Morneau has followed with an even better homer (his usual upperdeck type stuff). Well, I guess if Morneau will get a homer everytime after Mauer, I won't be complaining! :)

I am going to seriously have to update my HR list with these two games. Yesterday: Harris, Mauer, Morneau, and Buscher. Today: (as of 7th inning) Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer. I amliking this power boost!

Also, great job of eating those worms today bert. You looked like a master at that! It was for a great cause too. :D

**Sorry for my delay in blogging, so here is a quick mop up of the series' I missed**

Ok, Starting off with the most important guy: Joe Mauer. I was sitting watching the first inning of the game yesterday and was so excited about this new addition to our team (which we really needed). I was thinking "How awesome would it be if Mauer got a huge hit in his first at bat? Then everybody would go crazy!". Well, it happend! What a guy that Joe Mauer is!

I think Morneau is going to be REALLY good this year am I right? And with his BFF back, he's gunna be even better!

I am very impressed with the series against the Rays. You made them look so stupid on wednesday! And Cleveland was very good as well. And Boston....yeah, we don't even mention that team.

Another thing: How is Mijares SO DANG GOOD!?! He can go 3-0 in a count and come back to strike them out! He has a wicked breaking ball as well. He pitched against John Buck (whose name makes me laugh every time) and threw him the nastiest curve ever!

Something that makes me laugh:
I found this lady in a magazine. Looks like a female version of Kevin Slowey.

WHAT a series.

First, there was Kubel, and his spectacular game on Friday. Then the Twins' multirun innings in Saturday's game. Then the best pitching performance by Glen Perkins today capped it all off.

I was at today's game and was so glad I got to see Perk Pitch. He did so good! I was shouting "NO! DON'T TAKE HIM OUT! HE WAS DOING SO GOOD!" and, they listened and I was happy. Morales also made me happy today. He is my favorite kid out there!

I also saw a sign today that said: "We have a fever and the only Rx, is more Kubel!" and thought of Karlee from omgmntwins. Ah, I love Kubel...but he didn't get a hit today so I couldn't go super crazy.

And, I almost forgot Mauer's birthday today until I saw this one kids' sign. So, Happy Birthday Joe! Looking forward to you on May 1st! (Also, Happy Birthday to Buscher (yesterday))

Up Next, Boston. (Relax guys, it's only 2 days...please relax). Please take this momentum to Boston with you. please.

A Grand Slam? To win the game? And Complete the Cycle?!? Jason Kubel, you are the cheese to this teams' macaroni!

Kubel, I know you hate the attention, but you need a "Kubel Day" once in a while. Yesterday you were the best player in baseball! That has got to feel good. Unfortunatly, you took away Harris' happiness when he hit his homerun....but, I think he'll forgive you.

All I gotta say is maybe we should put Kubel in Left field more often! Sorry Delmy, but you haven't impressed my as of now. Delmy=Makes me nervous and often mad. I was starting to go into a Twins losing "sad-stage", but thanks to Kubel, I'm cured!

You also gotta give some credit to Span too. That 2 run double helped out alot. Who knew that us lil' Twins could beat the "oh-so-good" LA Angels?

Ok Twins, we are in 4th place. Lets fuel off of Kubes' fire, and win!! (K-Slow tonight. He's been struggling, so lets get some rocket bats going!)

'Cause we need you badly. We just lost two [embarrassing] games to the White Sox, and now we are off to play the "Red Hot" Toronto Blue Jays. Please come home soon. Please?

This series reminded me just how much I despise 1) Paul Konerko 2)Jermaine Dye 3) Jim Thome 4) Alexei Rameriez 5) Carlos Quentin & 6) Ozzy Guillen. That is most of their lineup, so basically, I despise the Chicago White Sox. And no, this doesn't include Joe Crede. He has been converted into a mighty fine Twins man.

Finally, Delmon got his batting average off zero, and today he hit a home run. Slowly he is coming back. Lets just say I hope he does better than last year.

Well, Cuddy, I hope you can forgive yourself after making two errors at 1B. But Morneau's kinda been slacking lately, so we needed to mix it up a bit.

Oh, and I love Jose Morales. He looks like a second grader!

The power of the youngins...

That was a GREAT win last night for the Twins! So glad I stayed up to watch. I hate giving up on the Twins because they are the type of team where anything can happen at any time, anywhere. This happend to be one of those games.

I found myself talking to Buscher at his at bat, soothing him by saying "c'mon baby" (after his Nickname; Busch baby). They zoomed up on his head kind of by his ear, so I considered it a sign and kept saying it over. They zoomed up on Morrow (He reminds me of Rob Morrow from 'Numb3rs'), and I whispered to him: "Throw somthing crappy!" And it worked!

I liked how all the young guys came in at the end to put on a show. Way to go lil' ones! I also liked how Casilla came up to bat with an attitude. He took that first pitch, and boy, he didn't miss it. Oh, and Busch hustlin' home was amazing as well. :D

Now, the real deal

FINALLY the offseason is over and we can get on to some REAL baseball. However, it is kind of depressing that it is here because if we just had one more month, we could have Baker and Mauer ready for opening day. ugh, why are we plagued with injuries so bad!

Somthing kinda-not really baseball related:
Ok, So I got this stuffed Narwahl for my birthday and it was right after getting back from Spring Training, so I decided to name him Matty T after my Best Friend Matt Tolbert. Turns out that Matt is going to be playing lil' league this start of the season so I will need my Narwahl more than ever to remind me of him. Oh, poor Matt. He did so well this Spring, and now is sent down. I cry for my best friend!
This is it incase you were wondering....
(Isn't he a cutie? That's why I named it after my cute Best Friend Matt Tolbert!)

Ok, back to baseball:

I am glad that we are going into the season with a win. The boys will be in better spirits then. I think that Seattle is going to be a whole lot better this year, so boys? Don't underestimate them. (Unless it's Silva, then maybe)

Also, Jose Morales is so cool. He is on my good side for now. I do hope he does really good to try (I said TRY) to make up for Mauer's awesome-ness behind the plate. I wonder who he'll catch for...Blackburn? Slowey? Those are my guesses.

I will hopefully get those [awesome] pics of [tolbert] Spring Training up soon, and hopefully blog something [GREAT] about our first game of the season on monday.

What terrible news on Scott Baker having to start the year on the DL! I bet he was pumped to be the opening day starter, and now he must be feeling just horrible. This is not good.

So we are already going to hurt because of Mauer being out, and now with Baker, our pitching leader, I wonder how the first month(s) will go. I guess they will just have to be super on offense so save their butts on Defense.

As Bill Smith says: "It's a short term thing". Yeah, thats what you said about Mauer, stupid. Now look where he is! The only positive thing, is that Dickey is going to be the No. 5 starter. Now I can watch his awesome (and quite wierd) pitching. But when Baker comes back, I wan't him out (to the bullpen that is!) because we need the best if we are gunna win this thing.

My Spring Training expirience :)

Ah, just got back from Florida (sadly, it is still freezing in MN). I have so much to blog about that I can't remember half of it so here it goes.
Ok, so the Twins had lost 2 games in a row before I went to Sunday's game vs. Toronto. They then won vs. Toronto when I was there, Then Monday vs. the Orioles when I was there, Then @ the Marlins' stadium (again I was there). Then the next game they played (Thursday @ Reds' stadium) they lost. Coincidence? I sure hope not.....but then again yes :)

Spring Training games are SO MUCH more fun than regular games. The guys are so relaxed and really nice...well, except Morneau who really hates people I think. I got 7 Autographs in 2 days. It was so cool! AND I got 3 of my top 5 players' autographs

(My top 5 (in order of favorites): Slowey, Tolbert (Recently Added), Blackburn , Harris, &Buscher)

In all, I got: Nathan, Span, Buscher, Tolbert, Pridie, Mijares (he is awesome!), and Harris

Probably my most favorite game was the away game against the Marlins because
1)Slowey pitched AND had 3 RBI's! It was amazing!
2) I got 5 autographs
3) (Most Favorite): Brian Buscher tossed ME the game ball :D (Which, as I calculated, had been: Pitched by Slowey, hitten by a bat, touched by Tolbert, caught by Busch, and tossed to me... ah what a great day it was...

Jeez, Outside baseball is 100% better than indoor baseball. The sun, heat, fresh air. Ah, I can't wait till 2010.

Also, I have become attached to Matt Tolbert. He is what I call my new best friend. He played every game I watched and played the whole time. And...I spyed on him through my binoculars... hehe :)

Please Comment this and tell about your favorite Spring Training expirience. (If you have never gone, you should seriously consider it. The people down there are so nice and I seriously cannot wait to go back to Ft. Meyers!)

Ugh, it's been forever since I saw the MIN highlighted on MLB.com. Finally Today we beat the O's 5-3 (and Humber got a start!)

Finally Span is starting to break out and hit the ball. Unfortunatly, Morneau isn't....yet.

And Crede hit his first Homerun as a Twin today!! Whew, the Race between Busch and Crede is pretty close, but I don't think the Twins are going to not start Crede considering they just got him. But Crede is going to be so fun to watch this season!

Whoa! Nice Job Liriano and Bullpen! 1 hit through 9 innings is awesome! Liriano gave up no hits, walks, and struck out 5....In FOUR innings!

The hitting.....could be better. Only four hits, but I guess it got the work done (thanks to Gomez).

Only one game behind the Grapefruit Leader(s) and 2 games behind the angels in the A.L. (Did I mention I hate the Angels minues Torii Hunter?)

And, A-Rod WILL HAVE surgery. (YES!) He will be out for at least two months :D

And might I ask, what is with all these injuries? Blackburn, Nathan, Boof, Mauer. Good Gravy! Have we fallen into a unhealthy plague? We need these guys! Without Mauer, I keep forgetting he is even on our team. Where is he anyway? On the couch? At Morneau's house?

As of today we are 4-2. And behind the Angels (I am so sick of them honestly) Baltimore (who would have thought!) and Seattle (they are makeing a comeback, I swear) in the standings.

And Lil' Gardee got an RBI today! Good for him!

Ok, so we got Crede Right? Well, he better watch out because Buscher is on FIRE right now! (Wait, when isn't he?)

Well, we got lots of run support today from Young (3 for 3, 2 RBIs) and Gomez (HR), but also won the game due to a great show from the bullpen....and Liriano, of course.

Too bad that Mauer is not healthy enough to participate in this fun. And Turns out Boofie won't be able to participate at all. He will just have to hang out with Neshek this season.

Tomorrow we play the Sox again. AND it's Slowey's starting day!! :)

Here we go again! Baseball season is upon us.

We are officially 2-0 in the Grapefruit league and are to face the Yanks tomorrow afternoon with Baker on the hill.

Personally, I really like when the Roster Invitees get to play and do really well. It shows them just what they are up for when they reach the Big Leagues. In today's game vs. the Reds, Peterson (an invitee) hit a grand slam. That is the kind of stuff that I think is really cool. Oh, and Bush Baby hit a home run too :)

I am really enjoying the season so far. Slowey's start is coming up, and I am looking forward to that!

So I heard this news on Fox 9 Last night (even though the Twins website said they were interested in him before). I also heard from Jim Rich that this is a possible lineup/position roster for opening day:

~Cuddyer (RF)
~Gomez (CF)

As far as starting piching? Of course I would say Slowey, but there are many decisions that Gardee will have to make.

One other thing Jim Rich Said: "[With the signing of Crede] the Twins are now looked at as the most likely leader of the Central Division"

Ah, now that was a good commercial. I was so excited to see it, that I was hoping the 3rd quarter to be over really quick.

My favorite part of the commercial was obviously the Slowey part (even though he didn't do much of anything except be Baker's (who would have guessed?) passenger). But did you see him do the sly hat flip? Awesome.

One thing I didn't get is why Gomez and Casilla weren't in the same truck. I mean come on, It's not SPAN and Casilla, it's GOMEZ and Casilla. (No offense Span...)

Also, How does one get to be in a commercial? I was so jealous of the fan truck. I wanted to be in the truck :(

Twins Fest

Ah, long time no blog. I better start getting into the routine as Spring Training and the Season will be apon us in no time.

Anyway, I went to me first Twins Fest yesterday and had a GREAT time. Got Pictures with a Panda guy, Span, and (my personal favorite), Slowey! I went to the Slowey Q&A and got to talk to him. This was the coolest expirience. I saw Baker, Blackburn, Mauer, and Morneau as well. I was never more excited in my life! Span was so cool and Slowey was the sweetest guy! ;)

If you haven't gone on the tour of the clubhouse, you seriously should. It is alot of fun. Just seeing their lockerroom and where they have to go everygame was just really cool. While getting a tour of the lockerroom, I found Slowey's locker, and sat in there. I felt very special :)

Well, there will be more to come during Spring Training. I am going to be going to Florida (can't wait) and will get pics and blog about how awesome it is when the time comes.

Ok, Off my withdrawal of no twins baseball (it's hard...very very hard), I am now cheering for the Rays more than ever before. I have a good feeling for them. And, Jason Bartlett is the player for October on my Twins calander (yes, they obviously made it before he was traded). Is that a sign or what?

Ok, so they lost the first game, but they still have a whole bunch of power (aka my Rays Fav. Evan Longoria) and Talent (Jason Bartlett) to win the World series. They are not going to let the little phillies beat them. The only person I root for on that team is Chase Utley. He is the coolest....but Rays are better...don't worry!

Anyway...Good Luck tonite Rays. I will be watching from my couch downstairs. Go Bartlett...and Garza from the bench :)

Sorry this took so long to post. It really took me a while to think of what to say but here goes...

First of all, Nick Blackburn, you pitched one helluva game. If stupid Danks hadn't been on a great streak and our offense (oh Cuddyer was SO close to scoring!!) had been a bit better. One run is really good expecially against HR Chicago.

It was really tough for me when we lost. It was so heartbreaking that the Twins lost that I was in just a glum mood the whole day friday. Just thinking about it made me almost cry.

The game gave me alot of "what if's"
What if we had beaten the worst Seattle more than we did?
What if Detroit actually tried in the chicago game?
What if Cuddyer's leg hadn't been broken and he could have beaten the throw to the plate?
What if Neshek was still with us?
What if chicago had lost just one more game in the season. What if we had won one more?

Ah....There is alot to think about...but I know that next year the Twins are going to fight so hard. And hey, we were the only ones to beat Cliff Lee this season!

We deserved to be in the post season. The white sox can't beat the sox, rays, or angels...while the twins can beat the Rays and Angels.....and sox but not that often.

Oh, and Tampa will take care of the sox....don't you worry.

P.S. At least we got ourselves a batting champion...AGAIN!!!

Twins, you are SOOOO lucky that Chicago lost yesterday. Today, lets win and keep the sox from sneaking up on us.

I am really excited for Mauer right now because he is sooo close to becoming a batting champ for the second time around. He is currently 6 points up of Pedroia with 2 games left. C'mon Mauer!!

Some more great news is Slowey's MRI came back and there is nothing wrong but a bruised wrist (whew!).

Well, even if we do lose this (score as of 8:34 PM: 6-2 Sox) we still have a chance to get in. But...oh man. It would have been grand to be in first!!

Kudos to the rest of the team tho. Kubel in the First game, Young in all games, Gomez and his spectacular catch and countless other things we have been doing great.

First off, sorry for the blogging delay. I didn't really want to blog during the Rays series, but it turns out they won 2 of 4! Go Twins!

Tonight (and the next 2 days) are the biggest games this year. The Sport Announcer dudes on ESPN say the Twins NEED to win at LEAST 2 games in order to stay in the race. This makes me nervous, but when you think about it, the Twins are:

~Have homefield advantage
~Have Slowey pitching the last game (yay!)
~Are basically at the same level as the White Sox
~We have excellent offense (some days, please be on during this series) and defence.
~WE HAVE 2 CHAMPIONS IN THE MAKING!! i.e. Justin Morneau (MVP) and Joe Mauer (Batting Champ)
~The last series' (if we are still in this race) are against KC (us) and Cleveland (C.Sox) and the Indians are playing some GREAT baseball right now...lets hope Chicago has to face Cliff Lee!

ESPN guys say that Chicago is going to have alot of trouble scoring if they don't hit homeruns (Yay! and...oh god! at the same time) 1. Thats good news that they won't be able to score that easily, 2. We have given up like 1000 HR's in the past week.... yikes.

WE DO NOT NEED TO BE GIVING UP HOMERS HERE (ok starters and Joe Nathan??!)

Twins, don't be nervous. Play Hard and Play Smart. The whole state of MN is rooting for you!!

Well. That was a great season to watch and such a fun year with all the youngsters. But unfortunatly the loss tonite to the Indians (the game isn't over but we all know what's gunna happen), the White Sox win (no, they haven't won yet but the yankees having 3 hits over 7 innings means bad news). And the Rays are going to beat the Tar out of us and by the time we even get to the White Sox series, we will be so far back, that Cleveland might be in second place.

Oh man. I have a case of baseball blues. It makes you feel like you got punched in the stomach. At least we may have a MVP this year, and maybe a rookie of the year.

Why do the Twins have all the bad luck? 4 games with the Bestest Rays, a game with the Cy Lee, WhiteSox Series, and all the other crap in between like our SUCKY BULLPEN.

All I can say is that I am praying for a miracle....and if that fails, GO RAYS!!!

And the new name for the Twins ballpark is...*drum roll*...Target Field? uh...ok. I kinda thought they'd name it something a little more sparklier than that. Maybe it means the Twins will hit a bulls eye with their homeruns....who knows.

Today the Twins are 1.5 games behind when they were tied (and could have been .5 over if it weren't for the Twins' sucking yesterday.

And tonite, Kevin Slowey pitching a quality start (so far) giving up 3 runs (so far) on 2 homeruns. Grr...those homeruns kill us.

We've had people in scoring postition with NO OUTS TWICE and no runs coming in. Does this mean we don't deserve to win? If they don't produce runs, yes.

So much for the series win because the chances of winning cliff lee are SLIM. And then we go to Rays' park o doom to try to win against the best team in baseball.

Ok, I am a very lazy blogger and am sorry of the delay(s) so here we go on the recap of the week:

~We gained a whole 1.5 games in 1 day
~As of Today we are 1 game behind, have 2 games today while the sox have ZERO! (yay!)
~Blackburn and Slowey got a win!
~Guerrier blew another game on a day we could have gained ground...darn Guerrier...
~We lost both coinflips on who gets home-field advantage in a tie situation :(
~Morneau is only 4 RBIs behind Hamilton for RBI leaders!!!!!
~Liriano got cheated Thursday :(
~Twins are awesome (cept Matt Guerrier as of now)

Yes. A good and bad week. Mostly good.

And as of now, Morneau is only 2, yes, TWO! RBI's behind Hamilton. hoorah! And we are beating the Orioles! Hoorah again! (In game uno)

I have also come to a conclusion on why we have been so terrible the past 3/4 weeks: It's because Harris hasn't been able to play that often. And when you think about it, he didn't get to play hardly at all. Brenden Harris is the Key to Success! :-D

Anyway, lets hope the Twins win tonite, and they will [most likely] win tonite unless the Birds can come back from being down 7-2 in the 7th against BOOF-ie.

I can tell you know that I am really nervous for when we go to St.Petersburg....soooo nervous.

Why Now?

Why Twins? Why do you have to be so sucky when this is the time to be on the top of your game?First being Swept by Toronto. So then I thought, well, they'll be so much better at home. WRONG. We sucked at home (except for the first game). We haven't lost a series at the dome since May!!

Well, then again, we aren't the only ones losing when we need to win. The Red Sox are only 1.5 games away from Tampa when they used to be 3 plus games out.

Did you know that in the last 10 games we are 3-7? That is pathetic. We don't deserve to be in the playoffs playing like this. Thank goodness that Chicago lost today or we'd be 3.5 games out and by tomorrow we could be 3 games out without the Twins even playing. (Or 2 games out...lets hope!)

I really appretiated Morneau Today and Yesterday. Sure, you got the last outs in both games with men on base, but know what? You hit that ball so hard both times. If there was anybody but Polonco at 2nd, that would have tied the game yesterday. If only Mauer did what he did to Toronto...if only.

Wow. The Twins have been exceptionaly suckish on this road trip.
Bullpen: Suckish
Offense: Suckish
Defense: Suckish
Starting Pitching: Decent

We are pretty much looking at a sweep here in Toronto unless the Twins can pull off 4 runs in to innings... Kevin Slowey gives up 3 runs, you seriously can't blame anything on him. Why do we do so bad against bad teams!?!? I can tell you right now that the way the Twins are playing right now is NOT going to take them to the playoffs.

I am so scared for the Tampa series. Even more scared than the White Sox Series. If we lose all 4 games against the Rays, we are screwed, done, no playoffs, nothing.

But didja here? Carlos Quentin has an injury! Cha Ching! The Karma is sneaking up on them!

Before I leave and watch the Twins lose (they now have 1 2/3 innings to get 4 runs)...wait make that 1 1/3 innings.

P.S. I LOVE MATT TOLBERT! I am so happy he's back! He did so good yesterday while everyone else sucked (i.e. Pridie, Punto)

Boston, You did awesome by winning 2/3 from the White Sox. Sadly, we could only gain a game on one of those wins (it should have been 2).

Yeah, about Saturday's game. Um, Nathan, lets just say I wasn't A real big fan of you that night. I was so mad that I shut off the TV and threw the remote mumbling some colorful words about Nathan. Poor Liriano, he pitched SUCH a great game too and everyone thinks when Nathan comes in, we will win. I guess that didn't happen this time.

Last night's game made me feel happier even though the White Sox won, Scoring alot of runs is alot of fun. Morneau is only about 8 RBI's out of first place for the RBI leaders. Can you believe it? About a month ago, he was 20+ RBI's behind.

I have alot of Homeruns to add to my list. Well, it's only 3, but in Twins sense, thats alot of homers. We got Alexi's, Morneau's and Span's (from 2 days ago).

Next is Toronto and lets count our blessings that we don't have to face Halliday.

We win, Sox Lose. Twins: 1/2 game behind. We are back where I like it (if only we were a half a game up). I just hate when the Twins drop to 1, 1.5, or even 2 games behind because it takes so much work to get back to the top.

Everybody did good yesterday...except Punto who was o-6, but it's ok, He'll impress us tonight. Slowey pitched an awesome game, giving up only two runs, and that was from a home run, so who even cares. 6 hits over 6 innings, is pretty darn good in my opinion. Mauer, good grief man! 4 RBI's and 5-6? That makes your average skyrocket!

So I read today that Casilla gets moved down to the 8 spot, and hey, That's an excellent idea. He hits better when he and Gomez are hitting next to eachother. Remember when they were 1&2 hitters? Our Lineup is so great starting at the number 8 spot: Casilla, Gomez, Span, and Punto. How can you have a faster lineup than that? And add Ruiz in there and we're good.

What amazes me, is that we scored 12 runs yesterday right? Not ONE run came from a homerun. Not 1. The Twins are so good that they don't need Homeruns (that often) they'll just double, single, double, drive people in while in scoring position. That is how we are still in this race is by Hustle and good, timely hitting when we need it.

Liriano tonight, this should be an excellent game. :)

Sorry, that was just me taking my anger out in my keyboard.

I am so pissed right now, and truthfully, I don't know why. Maybe because we just lost the series TO SEATTLE which is the WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL.

Last nights game was terrible. And know what? It was NOT Scott Bakers fault. We just suck, against sucky pitchers.

Right now I feel like we have lost our playoff hopes. Yeah, I know there's still the big Chicago series, and we still have a month plus of baseball left, but 2 games behind feels like a MILLION games behind. And just think, 4 games ago we were in first place! Hopefully Chicago will lose a series and we can get back into first place.

Wow, Blogging this all out makes me feel a whole lot better. The Twins aren't done, no way, far from it. We are going to win today, and win a whole bunch more and Chicago WILL LOSE!!!

P.S. Randy Ruiz!! You hit your first Homer! Nice job buddy! We knew you had the power in there somewhere... ;)

Oh how I wish we could have won the series. But I guess I'll look on the bright side: We won 2 out of 4. That isn't bad or anything, but winning against them is so rewarding that I wanted them to win again. I am such a selfish Twins Fan. :P

At least the 2 games we lost weren't blowouts. Man, we almost had them yesterday! Gomez, keep your eye on the ball please!

I am also very happy with Torii Hunter. It almost seemed like he was telling us: "hey, we have the AL West in the bag, I'll help you guys win the AL Central, ok?" Good Ol' Torii, I miss him, but where would we be if we still had him on our team?

And way to got Justin Morneau of Breaking out of your Angel slump and hitting a homer and a RBI double yesterday. And Slowey, nice pitching, It wasn't your fault we lost!

Up next, Seattle. Twins? PLEASE DON'T BE STUPID THIS TIME!!! We can beat these guys and Liriano is gunna shut them down defensivly, so all we need is the offense!

Starting off Right

Whoa. This is way better than I expected the Twins to play against The Angels. We've guaranteed a split of this series!! And they've come against 2 of their toughest pitchers.

Watching the first 3 innings of the game in which we could have scored 2 runs, I was starting to feel nervous. But Delmy's homer blew my nerves away. Even though we only had a 2 run lead at that point, I knew that Perkins was going to pull through and pitch another great game.

Oh yeah, Ruiz? Man, you can HUSSLE down that line! How DO you do it? I would pinch run you for Morneau any day.

Speaking of Morneau....why does he have to suck against these guys? I bet he felt so good when he got that late hit last night. Poor Morneau, he'll have to wait till Oakland to add to his RBI collection.

Dear Twins: Keep up the good work! Only 12 games left and you can go home! And Blackburn, we aren't giving up a leadoff homer this series, right??

What an effort put on by the boys last night. I was just in awe in how nobody sucked! Last nights lineup was by far my favoritest lineup that Gardee could have made. Span, Punto, Mauer, Morneau, Kubel, Ruiz, Buscher, Harris, Gomez, and Slowey. How can you get better than that!!??!

I am going to do a top 10 list of last night's game because there was so much stuff that rocked:
1. Slowey's career high 12 K's
2. Buschbaby's Homer
3. Gomez's Homer
4. Punto's awesome play
5. Bass kickin' ass
6. Everybody got a hit
7. RANDY RUIZ! I LOVE HIM!!!!
8. Morneau's doubles
9. 3, 3 run innings, and 1 4 run inning combining a total of 16 hits on the night.
10. We WON!

Does anybody here agree with me that Randy Ruiz frickin' ROCKS?! And they were thinking of sending him down to AAA when Casilla comes up. Um, HELLO? He's hitting AWESOME. Send Everett down or something! Just keep my new Best Buddy (Slowey is still my #1 though...) Ruiz up in the Bigs!

The upcoming road trip scares me so bad. We have the angels first and we happen to be faceing their best pitchers to start off. Then Mariners (you know what happens when we play them...), Athletics (hopefully we can gain some ground there), Jays, Then we finally come home for the Tigers and Royals.

Twins, remember that long road trip last year when you absolutly sucked? This year, lets not suck and do some damage. You are better than last year and you know it!

They are so cute!! I'll have to get one next time I'm at a pro shop. They aren't at the dome....sadly :(

Today: Twins win...but I am so sad how the bullpen was sooo close of making me spaz out if they lost. Thank you Buschbaby for hitting the game winning sac fly. Jesse Crain....I still hate you, and thank you Reyes, for winning.

Lets all go wish for an Oakland sweep of the Sox so we can be 2 games ahead of Chicago. Yay!

And Everette, be excited about your homer! In your interview...you just were like "it wasn't me...it was just luck." EVERETTE, be proud! You are gunna need to be better since Casilla is coming back and you will be benched.

First place again, We just keep on flipping back and forth: 1/2 game ahead, behind, ahead....lets try to run away with this right now, ok Twins?

But...Alexi Casilla is coming back soon (yay!!) This is great so we can finally get stupid Adam Everette out of the lineup (I strongly dislike him).

Kevin Slowey...did amazing again last night...But Nathan....NATHAN? What are you doing: loading the bases in the 9th inning? Please stop that...we need to beat KC.

Ok, So we lost (again) to the worst team in baseball, the worst pitchers in baseball, the worst players in baseball (cept Ichiro and stupid Ibaniez...Ibaniez...yes...HE'S THE SPOILER. 11 RBI in 2 games vs. Us...Get him AWAY!!

We need to win this game in order to keep our reputation. The White sox won, so we are now 1 game behind when we should have had extra ground with a win on Monday.

So we can go and beat Chicago 3 times and let Seattle, who are 27 games back in their division, kick our butts? I am so lost here. 10 runs in the 7th inning? That is PATHETIC.

We seriously need to win the next 2 games or I, and other twins fans, will seriously lose their marbles. Twins! Be glad! You aren't facing Hernandez! You got one of the worst pitchers (at least this year) last night and you couldn't maintain your lead!

1 Positive thing about the game: Nick "Mighty" Punto hit his second homer. Go PUNTO!

I am just so fusterated right now that I could say a million swear words but I am going to keep them to myself, wait till 9 frickin' 10 PM and listen to the game and try to calm myself down hoping they will win.

Thank you...Thank You, Liriano for pitching SO great today! And now you can celebrate first place with the Twins!

And Kansas City deserves some credit because KC is great at being spoilers and helping teams [The Twins] out.

I'd like to say that when Lamb put the tag on that runner, I bleated out BAH BAH! Really loud...just to show my support of de lamb. :)

I have not yet said goodbye to Monroe and Hernandez thus far so I will say it now: SEE YA, DON'T THINK WE NEEDED YA. (Although, I think I will miss Monroe for some reason...)

This weekend I accomplished the task of recieving my long waited for Slowey T-shirt that I can tell you, will wear it to every Twins game I go to from now on no matter who is pitching just to show the love and support of the Slowey. :)

Now, with Liriano up, I don't have to wince about who is pitching anymore because I reeeely didn't want to see Hernandez pitch when I went to a game. I would have wanted to see Slowey or Blackburn expecially, and Baker and Perkins aren't that bad...but I did not want to watch Hernandez pitch just because he scares me every time he pitches. But Now with Liriano...it's all good to watch!

Some little things I'd like to throw in here: Welcome to the club Randy Ruiz. You are a BIG boy but you have so much power in you. I am gunna like you...I know it. Also, I wish a happy (belated) birthday to Matt Guerrier.

Leaving Note: Juan Rincon...I know you were very sad when the Twins relesed you and I do hope you went over to see your BFF Reyes before the game. He misses you Rin, he does.

Three out of Four. THREE, OUTA FOUR from the leading White Sox. We could have been 6.5 games back by the end of this series. But where are we? One half of a game game back. We could be in first place by tonite!

I am so happy that I decided to wear my Nathan shirt today to show my love for my team and how they won the series against the sox. I am also bringing my dirt shirt with me this weekend when I go to the cities.

I was very pleased with Kubel last night. I admit in the beginning of the game I was saying "Stupid Kubel" because he wasn't doing anything productive. When he hit the homer I was satisfied. And to think...Gardee wasn't even gunna put him in the lineup in the first place.

Speaking of Gardee....That was a sweet drop kick of his hat there. And whoa...Twins fans can sure show when they are angry. Hats, Baseballs, FOOTBALLS...all over. Ozzy Guillen even had an argument with an old guy over the Sox duggout.

Cleveland is next and this would be a great time to move right up in to first place. Don't you think Twins?

Oh, and Casilla...PLEASE get better! PLEASE!!! We need you! And if you are out for the rest of the season...what will Gomez do? Oh! The tought I cannot bare it!!!

Slowey! Slowey! Slowey! You pitched awesome last night. I mean, you pitched a shutout to the first place Chicago White Sox!

Span hit a 2 run homer, and Morneau hit a two run homer....and I was just thrilled to know that we were not gunna get swept for sure, and that we were gunna gain a game on them for first. I can just taste first place for the Twins!!

I also got really excited when they put GoGo in for the first time since his smash against the wall and he hit a single and eventually scored on Harris's two run double. You could sooo tell by the way he ran that he was still in some pain from the accident...but hey, he still runs as fast as lighting!

Tonite is the Perkins, who lost for only his first time in nearly 2 months in his last start and he is going up against someone who has not pitched in the majors this year. This is the time for the Twins to capitalize!!

The Big Series

4 Game Series against who? The Leading (by only two and a half games) Chicago White Sox.

I am soooooo excited for this series. We have a great oppertunity to take the lead in the AL Central AND we are the home team.

Saturday's game was a great Game for Brian Buscher. I didn't get to watch the first half, but when I was watching the second half on TV, the got 9 runs by that time and they wouldn't say who drove in all those runs until the end when they told everyone Buschbaby had gotten 5 RBI's. Way to go Buschbaby!

Well Twins, I do hope you win tonite...and tomorrow, and the whole series. Just please don't make Asses of yourselves.

And one more thing, GO SLOWEY!

Forget about last nights' game against the Yankees...tonight we Have *Kevin Slowey* pitching and so It should be a great game. We gotta win this one!!

For some reason it is really hard for the Twins to win at Yankee Stadium. So It would be great to win at least 1 and even better to win 2. However, Yankee Stadium doesn't seem to effect Casilla who had a great game yesterday.

And lets just say we are damn lucky that the White Sox have been losing on the days we have so we can maintain that 1/2 games behind...and hopefully we can find a game to win, and have the White Sox lose. All I can say is, GO TEXAS!!

Ranger Smashing

Ahh...great game. 14 runs, 4 homers, 5 RBI for Morneau and 3 for Mauer. (They both were on MLB's Last Nights Performers)

Twins got a season high of 4 homers in 1 game. They came from Mauer, Morneau, Young (on his bobblehead day!) and Buscher.

Livan Hernandez didn't blow the lead either (whew) and earned the win by only giving up TWO RUNS!

Today's game however was heartbreaking. Scotty only gave up 2 hits and yet the Twins lost. They would have won it in the 9th, but the umpire didn't let Justin go to first when he got hit in the hand. I was so sad for Baker since he pitched sooo well, but 1 homerun lost it for the Twins.

Up next is the Yankees. Remember what we did to them last time? Well lets do it again. And you know, we have the 2 best pitchers coming to start it off...Blackburn and Slowey :)

Into the second half with a blast

The Twins appear to be off on the right foot into the second half *relief*. The game yesterday was so fun to watch. Expecially in the 7th inning when we got 4 runs.

Perkins pitched phenominaly and the offense was on the spot. Bushbaby and Ice Kubes both drove in 2 and Delmy went 4-4.

The Twins also shut out the Rangers for the first time since August 21st and snapped Ian Kinsler's (see photos below) 25 game hitting streak.

Homerun Derby King? Scored the winning run in the All Star Game? Woah! You are awesome!

I'd like to say that I am VERY proud of our 3-some at the All Star Game.
~Mauer: Single,walk, awesome STARTER behind the plate
~Nathan: 1 Scoreless inning, 1 Strikeout
~Morneau: Hit a Double, and a Single, and got intentionally walked, Scored 2 of the 4 runs, Hustled ass to get from 3rd to Home on a shallowish sac fly by Mike Young, Scored on JD Drew's 2 run HR to Tie the game, and the night before captured the Homerun Derby Crown.

Now, Alot of People have been giving Morneau Crap about winning the Derby because he is from the Twins, and he beat out Josh Hamiltion, who everybody wanted to win. And yeah, Josh looked like he was gunna win, but in the final round, he didn't hit like he did in the first round and Morneau just kept on sluggin'.

I stayed up all night to watch the all star game. Yes, all 4 hours 50 minutes, 15 innings of it. I wanted Morneau to be the MVP of the game sooo bad that I wanted everybody to get out so Morneau could come up to the plate again. And everytime he did, I was so excited that if he hit a homerun or a big hit to drive in the run, he could be the All Star. And he finally did something when he hit that single (which eventually scored).

I even caught myself cheering on People such as Ichiro, Kinsler (whoa...he is so cute), Sizemore, and....even Jeter...even though I hate him in regluar season, he was a part of the AL, and if he is there to help us win, then GO JETER!

Note to viewers: I will never say "GO JETER!" unless it concerns the All Star Game.

I just loved how even though all the boys were on different teams, they all acted like Best Friends.

And: Yes Morneau, you are safe.

First Half Complete

What a great first half. Here are somethings I am happy about:
>We are in second (almost 1st) place in our division
>We have gone so far without Santana, Bartlett, Hunter, Silva etc.
>Casilla has grown up so much
>Brian Buscher kicks ass
>At one point we had won 10 games streight
>We have so many speedsters now (Casilla, Punto, Gomez, Span)

Here are things I am not so happy about:
>Pat Neshek out for the rest of the year
>Swept by both Sox

There are more happy things than bad things...a good sign.

I am really bummed right now because I am going to the Twins game on Friday and Slowey was scheduled to start but with a finger injury (what a surprise!), got moved back to the end of the rotation...so now Perkins is pitching.

I'm scared.

Well, The Detroit Series was a great one. 3-4 is not bad. And we are 1.5 back from the Sox. Oooohh! I want them in first place soon!

And one more thing: I nearly forgot that Adam Everett is on our team....

Morneau!! You did AWESOME last night! 5 for 5 with a walk, 2 singles, 2 doubles (1 was a sapposed to be a homer...) and...an actual homerun. Whoa! Your average is almost higher than Mauer's!

Us Twins...rallying back to win like we weren't even losing in the first place...

Poor Slowey... He only lasted 3 2/3 innings. But at least he didn't get the loss! *whew!*Better luck next time Kevin!

And Nathan. What was that!? You are darn lucky you didn't blow the game. I thought you were gunna walk in the winning run from third but you got lucky and struck out Pudge Rodriguez to end the inning.

Oh and by the way: Thanks Matt Joyce for messing up (twice!) and letting us win. :)

Sweep.

No, not by us, by them.

Ok, For 1 we shouldn't have lost the first two games. Yesterday I wanted to strangle Matt Guerrier for blowing our 5-2 lead. Heck, I would have rather of had Crain come in then watch Guerrier spoil it all.

And did I mention I now HATE Manny Ramierez (yes, 'hate' is a very strong word, and in capital letters and in bold, it's is even stronger). He's so errogant and cheap. When he hits a ball a long way, he stands at home plate and is like: yeahhhhh....*walks around bases* and when it isn't, a double/triple turns into a single. GAH! I Hate him!!

Man oh Man...Today we got SLAUGHTERED. Like a bazillion to 5. Ok, like 18 to 5 but it's still bad. I mean, at 1 point we were leading 3-0 and I thought: yes, we got this one!! But of course, stupid Manny and Youkalis and all the other stupid people on that team blasted us.

We need to win because if we lose another one and Chicago wins, I think I am gunna spaz out. We need to domintate Detroit this next series. Yes, look ahead to the positives. All I want is that they are better than this on the 18th versus Texas because I am going to that game.

Cleveland Sweep!

Whoa! The Twins beat Cliff Lee! I was so happy when they got the lead after being down 3 to nothing for much of the game. I then laughed at how the Twins are so good at rallying back to win.

When the Twins Tied the game, Glen was so happy that he could maybe get the win. He was dissapointed that they didn't send Young who was on second base home on Nick Punto's bases loaded single. His face went from: YEAH!!! To: oh....

I also think Brendan Harris is doing great at 3rd base. Every play he has made has been great and his throws to Morneau are rockets. Brendan Harris: Mr. Infield.

And Today the Indians traded away their Ace C.C. Sabathia to the Brewers. At least the Twins won't have to face him as much anymore. However, they play the Brewers every year in Interleague, so it isn't the last of Sabathia for the Twins.

Twins win streak is at 5 and up next is the Boston Red Sox. It would be hillarious to knock down the Sox in a sweep. The Twins should play well at Fenway. Many Twins players say this is their favorite Park to play in, so they better make it worth while and win!

Little Nicky Punto?

Boy has he ever kicked butt these past few days. The roller to Casilla for the force Wednesday, then the homer and the bases clearing double yesterday. Whew! His new name should be Mighty Nicky Punto!

And, yeah....Delmy did good too (Dam *secret swear*, I hate that I hate him and then he does good...). He is finally getting his swing...but he still has a long way to go to beat last years homerun record (16).

And the Pitching this past week? Awesome....except Jesse Crain, my new target to cuss at when I am mad (I seriously thought we were gunna lose in the 9th yesterday because he was in....thats how much i don't trust him).

Today is Slowey day (yeahaa) and we are gunna K-Y-L those Indians...again! GO SLOWERZ!

Twins are back on a winning streak and 1/2 game behind Chicago (if they lose).

A fun ride

And the streak is over. I am kind of glad (well, sad that we didn't win..), but we all knew we were gunna lose sometime and all of us were getting nervous on when that would be. So now the pressure is all off...and we can start a new streak!

Twins had a great game Friday with homers by Kubel, Casilla, and the most important homer, Mauer's. It was starting to get ugly when Milwaukee lead 6-3...but like always, the Twins rallied back to make the game exciting. And Mauer's homer capped it all off.

Yesterday's game is when our offense went dead. 3 hits and we nearly got shutout until the 9th inning homer from Kubel. Then again...Hernandez didn't pitch bad, and Milwaukee only got 8 hits...so the Twins could have beat them (If Casilla and Cuddy were in the line-up).

Today is Slowey's day so I am going to have a great afternoon in the recliner watching the game. Last day of 2008 interleague, lets make it a great one.

I am so excited for the Twins, but I am keeping this short because nobody wants to jinx anything here.

Morneau, you suck one day, then the next you are the superstar. You won that game for us yesterday and you should be very proud. ...And Mike Redmond, without his beautiful tag that kept the Twins in the lead, they may have lost.

And No forgetting about Baker. Not only did he pitch great...He got his first Major League Hit and His first Major League Run Scored (he scored from second!!).

Thoughts: I saw that secret handshake of Gosilla's like 50 times yesterday and Everytime I see it I laugh on how cute those two are together.

That game was a great game both ways. I love the games where the Twins are down and rebound to come back to win. It makes you just love baseball a teensy bit more...

Up next is Red Hot Twins against the Red Hot Milwaukee Brewers...C'mon Twins...we want 1st place!

First Place, Here we come

Eight in a row. EIGHT in a row. ONE HALF game behind Chicago. *Excitement!*

Harris, you must be eating like 2 steaks a day. 2 homers in 2 days! Amazing! Both breaking the Twins out of a tie.

When the Padres scored 3 runs in 2 innings, I was beginning to worry until we scored 3 in the 3rd inning and Perkins gave up no more runs in the rest of his innings pitched. And when we got the score to 6-3, I knew we were gunna win. I mean, we are the Twins on a roll here...

Poor Justin Morneau...2 errors in 1 game (well, it was one error, but the popfly one should have been ruled as an error). How does a major leaguer's glove break in the middle of a game? How do you miss a pop fly?

Craig Monroe hit a 2 run homerun as a pinch hitter. He is so good at that job. Coming in the game in the late innings and drilling one over the fence.

Perkins, you did well. After the 2nd inning, you were just cruising along. And you got the win. Whoo Hoo Perkins!

One more game and we head back to the Metrodome. Keep it going Twins!

7 Straight!

Wow. How magical the Twins can be. They were just on a 6 game losing streak 2 weeks ago and now they are on a 7 game winning streak!

Last nights game was very boring until later in the game (i.e. The 9th inning). Harris and Buscher both drove one over the fence. Not to mention those homers were back to back.

I was so dissapointed when they had Slowey bunt. DIDN'T YOU SEE HOW HE HIT LAST TIME? Now Slowey won't be able to hit the rest of the season since our last interleague game is at home. However, he did a great job pitching (Heck, when DOESN'T he?), but unfortunatly he gave up one run and so Reyes got the win.

The Twins won, but sadly the White Sox also won leaving the Twins hovering at 1.5 games back. Twins are 5 games over .500, the highest they have been. And what's this? Cleveland nearly in last place of the Central Division? (Probably because they just got Rincon)

One more thing: Twins did awesome hitting against Mr. Cy Young Peavy. Peavy is weird and scares me....

For one, he looks like he is going to throw up, and for 2, Don't his blue eyes just pierce you?

This feels Great. Sox Losing, Twins Winning, All 5 pitchers getting a win (and Livan got 2!). And tomorrow's an off day. What more could Gardee ask for? (probably first place)

We are only 2.5 games back and if the sox lose, then we are 1.5 games back from 1st place. 1.5 games! We were just 6.5 games back! The Twins winning puts me in happy spirits.

We do have to give some credit to the Cubs. They are the ones that are helping us climb the ladder up to first place. So all I can say is: SWEEP EM' CUBS! SWEEP EM!

Up next we play San Diego. I think we are gunna end up winning 9 streight! We are doing AWESOME!

Kudos to the Twins pitchers. They are the ones who have carried the Twins through this 6 game winning streak. The bullpen has also done pretty well too.

Keep it up Twins. I can't wait for the SD series!
